The Scouting Perch

The Scouting Perch

Chilkat Eagle Preserve, Haines, Alaska

Eagles love to perch in the tops of trees and other high snags with a clear, wide view of areas with potential food and prey sources. Their vision is much more acute than most animals, allowing them to spot even small animals or fish at long distances. Here, my subject has spotted something of interest in the distance and is preparing to take off.
