Driving home along Route 1 after a weekend on the Central Coast, I arrived just south of Bixby Bridge shortly before sunset. It was an unusually clear evening with very little of the typical marine overcast. Visibility was so good I could see all the way to Monterey Bay. The soft sunset light cast a pastel glow on the hills and cliffs facing the ocean. The low light and medium telephoto zoom required a wide aperture and slow shutter (and a tripod).
