Texas Ranch Bluebonnets
Willow City Loop, Texas
In spring the hills of Texas are covered with bluebonnets (as lupines, the state flower, are known locally). There are many scenic drives where one can encounter acres of them growing wild, often mixed with paintbrush and other wildflowers. One such route is the Willow City Loop in the hill country north of Austin, where I got this shot of a ranch field in full bloom. I love the framing and feel of the oak trees and cactus, with a smattering of paintbrush mixed in.
