Hudson Yards, New York

I visited Vessel shortly after it opened to the public in 2019. An open air, interactive landmark, it was built as part of the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project in Manhattan, a collection of modern shopping, living and work spaces. While it has received much attention, both critical and favorable, there can be no doubt that Vessel is unique. With angled geometries and a bright glass and copper skin reflecting its surroundings, it is striking indeed. I selected this view to emphasize its untraditional design. If you look closely enough, you might find my photographer’s reflection somewhere on its curved surfaces (I haven’t yet!).
