Eagle Pair on the Nest
Klamath National Wildlife Refuge, California
I spent a weekend in February "shooting" eagles at Klamath National Wildlife Refuge on the Oregon-California border. I came upon this pair building their nest and had an exceptional front row view. I spent at least an hour watching them as they gathered sticks, bickered over where those should go in the nest, scraped bark from the tree for nest lining, went hunting, and so forth. They seemed completely unconcerned about my presence.
