I came away from my visit to Burney Falls in Northern California with two quite different images, taken at nearly the same spot and time. One was a close up abstract of the water as it cascades down the mossy hillside, emphasizing its peacefulness and gentle beauty. This shot was done at a wider, more normal angle and slow shutter speed, showing both the structure of the falls and its gentle peacefulness. The biggest challenge to shooting these falls is the darkness of the background contrasting with the sunlit water, even at midday.
