Aspen Grove Picnic Ground
Buena Vista, Colorado
Buena Vista is a small town in central Colorado situated at 8,000 feet on the Arkansas River next to the Presidential Range of the Rocky Mountains. The beauty of its surroundings benefits greatly from not being near a major highway or city. A small creek ambles through this picnic spot in a grove of aspens captured in mid-summer, early morning light, with Mount Princeton in the background. For me, one of the highlights is the lush carpet of grass sidelit by the morning light among the stately aspens.
