Plitvice Falls
Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia
Plitvice Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia. It contains a series of lakes and waterfalls on the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Visitors traverse the park via wooden boardwalks – crossing many streams, often with no handrails. Surprising that more visitors don’t fall into the water! I was there on a beautifully clear fall day. The sun lit up the turning colors in this peaceful setting which invites the viewer to wander toward the falls in the background.
