Nara, Japan

Nara is Japan’s oldest capital city, dating to the 8th Century. It is noted for its many ancient Buddhist buildings, including the Seven Great Temples of Nara. The Enomoto Shrine is one example. It is painted in a brilliant vermilion and approached by a long avenue surrounded by stone lanterns.
